I choose this rating as I have enjoyed the series of Mail order brides. I seem too be buying the same stories in different formats like the box set and singly thinking they were continuing stories. It was not until I started reading that I realized I'd already purchased them
When I choose a book to read that boasts of being clean, wholesome or inspirational, I am definitely not looking to read a story whose plot centers on incestuous rape, even though these two authors did not specifically use those terms. There was enough illusion to such a sick occurrence that a reader had no problem figuring out what kind of abuse was being alluded to on several occasions in the story. And what's up with all the Croatian/Serbian surnames doing in a historical western written about a ranch in America in the mid to late 1800's? This was a very disappointing book from beginning to end.
Jourdan Deskovic came out west with other women to become a bride, and they were all staying with Lenox Samson. She was chosen by Denzel Synnovia for a date. She panicked when Denzel touched and he felt she was repulsed by him and he got angry. This is a short but a very good story to see how a broken woman can be made whole again.
This is an awesome book by my favorite author. The book grabs you at the first page and doesn't let go. I cannot wait for the next book. You can read this book as a stand alone but I like the series, so I read in order. I won this book, but would have bought it no matter the cost. I highly reccommend.
