The rest of the writers in this series have a lot to live up to... As usual, Belle Calhoune has written a winner again. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when I read the intro because I'm not much into historical stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised. I think it will be kind of cool to read about the search for the treasure and it's impact on the involved families. This story reminded us about growing up and forgiveness where are character traits we all need to possess. I hope the rest of the books are as well written as this one.
Loved, LOVED this book! The quest for treasure is centuries old, and the "lure of buried treasure fooled people into believing it lay within reach." The "Hunt for treasure: At what cost to one's soul?" It's seductive, tempting, and deceptive, as also is vengeance. I love the look-back into the 1700's, and only wish that Drake & Camilla's relationship and falling in love could be developed further. Some of my favorite quotes:-" Do you ever truly stop knowing someone once you've known them all the way down to their very soul?"-And she (Lara) "was afraid to fall for him & then realize he isn't who I thought he was."-Ryan found that it was "okay just to be me."-"What is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, & lose his own soul?"-And the best one: "For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also."This was a fun read from the very beginning until the end!
Long ago, a Callahan princess met a Burton man who was to be the love of her life. Against her father's wishes, she shared her family's riches with her husband and protected him from death. A bitter feud and treasure hunt resulted. Twenty or so years ago, another Callahan princess met a Burton boy and shared her crackers and made a friend. Could their friendship surpass the feud? Could they find a treasure in each other?
On her first day back in Treasure Harbor she runs into Ryan Burton at the Pirates Pizza place. She was very dorky looking in school and no one paid any attention to her. As children she and Ryan were very close friends, but he did not pay go much attention to her in high school. Ryan was caught up into the world of his family trying to get people to stop thinking of Drake Burton being a thief. It was tragic how Drake Burton and Camilla Callahan loved and lost so much because of her father's hateful part in her death. I found their s a very good read and recommend it for all.
This book was an awesome read. Had the right amount of faith in to bring the two people together. It seemed to bring the past into the present to complete the romance. I would recommend this to anyone who likes an inspirational romance.
This was a very heart warming love story between a Burton and a Callaghan.I loved the characters, the setting and the storyline.I loved the verse Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.I look forward to more in the series.
I absolutely loved this book. It was so interesting I could hardly put it down. Another great book by Belle Calhoune who is a gifted writer and story teller. Can hardly wait for Book 2 in the series!
Oay, so I love all Belle Calhoune's books. What can I say? I have read all of them and each one is better than the last. Some kind of wonderful did not disappoint me in that it too is better than the last! This is book one of a 7 book series. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so read the description of the book for that. this is a clean book with mystery and romance and a HUGE family feud! It is a great book! It is a great series. Do yourself a favor and travel to Treasure Harbor!!
