I purchased this workbook as a supplement to my 2nd graders other homeschool materials. We also own this book's 2nd grade counterpart. I often find that many workbooks geared toward this age group are way too immature or simple so I was pleasantly surprised with the spectrum books. The English section in particular is great. There are some great worksheets covering context clues and prefixes and suffixes. The only area I really found lacking was math. There are only a few worksheets covering multiplication. In the 2nd grade book there are only a few multiplication worksheets as well. Mulitiplication is an area in which my daughter struggles so I was hoping for a more comprehensive set of exercises than these books offered. Overall, this book is good other than the problem I mentioned.
Purchased this book for my 8 year old nephew. While we're only just begun the exercises, it appears to be a well though out manual. From my nephew's remarks it also seems to be in line with his school work. My plan is to have him complete exercises over the summer to keep sharp before entering 4th grade.
THIS BOOK IS PERFECT FOR PREPPING OUR CHILDREN!!! Keeps them totally inclined with what they'll be faced with when the real test comes around!
I love this book common core is def new to me it keeps me on top of what my child is learning so that I don't fall behind on his education

I found the whole set cheaper elsewhere so I returned this.
