I recently went on a trip to London and brought this back for my toddler. I thought she might be a little young for it at 2 1/2 years old, but she loves it and asks to read it a lot. The story is fun and the illustrations are cute. We have enjoyed it enough to think about buying the other titles by this author. I think this could either be a good way to prepare a child for a trip to London or to reminisce about a prior trip.

We traveled to London with our 8 and 10 year-old granddaughters and read this book on the plane on the way there. Then we followed Katie's imaginary journey with the lion of Trafalgar Square on our journey around London, photographing our two granddaughters with a little lion of their own in all the places Katie visited with her little brother. It made the trip! You don't have to go to London to love this book, but it doesn't hurt.Look up the other books in this series. Katie and the Impressionists is a particularly fun way to introduce kids to art.

I read this book to my children, age 3, prior to a trip to London. They both enjoyed the book as a story and referred to the book during our vacation. It gave us a context in which to discuss London's landmarks prior to our vacation. Now that we're back from our trip, the kids are "reading" the book and asking that I read it. They're excited to point to the pictures and tell about their trip.I enjoyed the story. We haven't read any of the other books about Katie, but certainly will seek out others in the future.

We borrowed this book from the Library prior to our trip to London. My 6 1/2 yr old loved the book and it helped her get familiar with the Landmarks. We of course made it to Trafalgar Square the 1st day (as well as our last) to climb on the lions and take pictures. My daughter even looked for the blanket from the book. It was a great picture book to prepare for our vacation and now that we're back, we're buying our own copy as a souvenir.

I used this book to accompany an art lesson on England for a group of preschoolers ages 2-5. It was a little long for them but would be perfect for grades K-4 or so. Lots of great visuals and touches on the many tourist sites of London. Would be a great precursor if you were taking a child to visit England and London in particular.

Read this to my 4-year-old granddaughter. We are going to London in a few weeks and she loves this story. Wants to go sit on the Trafalgar Square lion, which we plan to let her do. What a beautiful story!

We really love England around my house, and my 6-year-old has absorbed some of that love. It has been great fun to walk through this book and point out places that we have been, historical elements, fun facts, etc. The Katie series is great!

This is a great book, especially for my 6-year-old Anglophile! He's so interested in anything having to do with London, and this book is factual but also a lot of fun. I'd recommend for any child interested in London or traveling to London.
