In the Spring of 2014 I was given the task of instructing a high school English class for three months, filling in for an instructor who was out on maternity leave. This was an exciting opportunity, but it also came with some challenges, due to the fact that my formal education and professional endorsement is not in English, but rather History. As such, it was necessary for me to utilize all resources available in order to successfully instruct and lead the students through the material.Though I have a deep love of literature I had never been particularly engaged or interested in Shakespeare. This slim volume was absolutely pivotal to my success in the classroom. Not only did it provide insight into the language and meaning of the text, it even succeeded in making me an ardent Shakespeare fan, now eager to read his other works.The depth of analysis and clarity of the writing were excellent and I recommend it highly as a resource to both teachers and students alike.

I am a Romantic and Romeo and Juliet is my favorite play! I watched all the movies, read many versions of the story and SparkNotes have the best guide ever for it. I highly recommend it to anyone!
