I was raised Catholic and wanted to get Mary a book that wouldhave her understand the importance of Holy Communion! I felt the book was creative, simple and got the point across about God's Love. I even enjoyed it. It brought memories of my ownHoly Communion!! Does she write any other books? My Son Michael is being confirmed next year and would love a book that wouldexplain Confirmation on the same level!!
Wonderful book that explains the true meaning of Holy Communion in a fun, simple and captivating way. Great for the children and the parents. Warm, loving and includes everyone in the experience. For communion or renewal of understanding this book is fabulous for all.
This book is perfect for preparing children for Holy Communion! It teaches with simplicity and clarity. I have read all of Mrs. Ficocelli's books, and look forward to her next one!
Good book to explain first communion. Was not what I would call a beautiful book that your child will cherish and look back on, but does what it sets out to do, talk to a child about first holy communion
Bought this book for the 15 kids who are getting prepared for holy communion in my castechism course. I found the book child friendly, explaining briefly the sequence of celebration of mass. As catechist we can develop from what is written in the book, speak about own personal holy communion etc.. Very colourful, the kids love it. Appropriate for children from 7 to 10 yrs old.
My son is making his First Holy Communion in five days and he was a bit anxious about it, until we read this book last night. He understood the easy explanations, interesting illustrations and it complements his CCD religious education instruction perfectly.
My daughter is preparing for her First Communion. This book describes the joys of the sacrament and helps her understand the consecration of the bread and wine. The book is interactive with questions at the bottom of each page for the parents to ask. This helps reinforce the concepts and opens dialog between the parent and child.
I bought this for my daughter to help her prepare for her First Communion (although she was also taking lessons), and she really enjoyed it. Concepts are explained easily for children (although I wouldn't claim Transubstantiation is easily understood at the best of times), and the illustrations are charming.
