I like this book, and more important, my son does. It motivates him to read and write. There's a lot of white space on some pages, and I felt there could have been more content, but overall, it's engaging, and with 91 pages of worksheets, it's worth the price. The book is oversized, which can make it harder to punch and put pages in a binder. Since we homeschool, we do keep records of our schoolwork, so I would prefer a more standard size. It covers vowel blends, antonyms, synonyms, homophones, plurals, sentence types, parts of speech, spelling, poems, types of stories, proof reading, vocabulary, alphabetizing, and how to read and make a timeline. By "covers," I mean there may be one page on the subject, so it's not a teaching text, but more of a practice text. Or it could be used to introduce each topic, then supplemented with additional worksheets. It would make a fun summer bridge activity book.
Bought the set for summertime to get ready for school next year and make sure that my Little Lion doesn't forget what he had already learned last year. He was so excited when they came in he immediately wrote his name inside and started working on the first pages! He looks forward to finding out which Star Wars characters are coming up. Glad that I purchased these. He would still rather play and use his electronics, but it is no problem to get him to do his workbooks. If your kid loves Star Wars you should buy these.Doing a two page spread doesn't take too much time and keeps him in the routine of homework. Uses Star Wars theme throughout.
If you have a child as obsessed with Star Wars as we do these workbooks are a must. Our 8 yo loves them!! We gave them to him for his birthday and even with all the other stuff he started in on them. I think he has done a page or two everyday without anyone suggesting it to him.
My kids love these books. i am so glad i found these and got them. they are having so much fun learning and they are such fun books. i totally recommend these to other homeschoolers or just parents/teachers who want their kids to have fun learning
My son was quite for three hours glued to these star wars books and hes difficult to get to do his required home work and this was just extra.......not expecting that great buy all of them reading math and writing !!!
I bought all the 1st and 2nd grade books for my son, he had a very, very bad year in kindergarten and now getting him motivated to do any kind of learning is very difficult. However, these books are easy for him to read and understand, he only needs a little guidance sometimes. He loves that they are Star Wars characters, and I love that he asks me if he can do his workbooks. I also took his book one step further and ripped the pages out and put them into page protectors and a 3 ring binder so that he can do the pages over and over, and I can use them for my other kids when they are ready to.
With an 8 year old that did not want to do "homework" over the summer I found the Star Wars Workbooks to make the summer learning fun. Many times I was reminded that it was workbook time. Great for those that love Star Wars and need just a little extra help.
I bought all of the 2nd grade level books for my 7 y/o niece to take with her on a long trip overseas. She was very excited about the books and started working on them right away. She said the only problem is she hasn't been allowed to see all the Star Wars movies yet so she couldn't know some of the answers.
