The pictures are colorful and fun. It might be good for 2-3 yr olds. It is too simple for a 4-5 yr old.
My three year old daughter literally blew through this in one day, she had so much fun! The pictures are all brightly colored and she could figure out what to do on most of them even without reading the directions. We have purchased and done lots of workbooks, and this is one of our favorites!!
My daughter completed the activities in this book without much thought, and quickly became bored with it. She is 4, and the age range on the cover is 4-6. I see the benefits of this type of activity - but I think they could make this a little bit more challenging for the 4-6 year age range.
My 3 year old LOVED doing this little work book. I originally purchased it b/c I needed something to keep my young child entertained while I worked on homework with my older child. This did the trick. It was easy enough for her to do it on her own, so I could help the older child. But, she felt as if she was doing school as well. I know of the reviewers think the book is for a younger age group than what the is officially printed. I can say it did work well my 3 yr old.
My son is 3.7 years old and likes this activity book. The book starts very easy and progresses to more "advanced" differences. Some of them he really has to pay attention. The one he shows difficulty I help showing him ways to differentiate them. I think it is a good way to introduce children to focus and attention to detail.We play 4-5 pages at a time and he gets tired of it.
This workbook is great for parents who want to help their children prepare for kindergarten. Although children will not be able to complete this workbook without the help of an adult (to read and explain the directions), the content of this book is quite enjoyable for parents and young children alike! Same or Different allows children to start identifying common items that they are familiar with in an enjoyable manner using recognizable items and animals.
I use this for my 3 year old to do "homework" while his older brother does his school work and it is great! he loves it, the pictures are great and the directions are short and easy to follow. I have brought this particular one a few times just b/c he really enjoys it and he is still learning. As with all of these I wish they were re-usable but being as though they are not crazy exspensive I can buy a few since my toddler rather use a marker then a pencil!
This is a very good book to start teaching your child after 3 years old. This is one my daughter struggles with b/c she can find same objects, but she struggles with same and different shapes. I normally go over it with her every other week, but i feel that it's very good practice for her to be taught these things early so she'll be ready by kindergarten. I strongly recommend this whole company of books
