The main concept that I got from reading this e-book is that even basic hacking has a dark side and it is a dangerous mine field where the uninitiated should not tread. Secondly, Big Brother or Lil Brother is always watching and should you stray into their web, accidentally or on purpose, the results may be disastrous to your physical and or financial we'll being. Walk softly on the web, because someone out there already has "The Big Stick" and they might just use it when you least expect it.
There is more on the internet than meets the eye. This book by a well credentialed author provides an overview of hacking, security, and personal privacy techniques. About half way through the book there is content about the NDAA. It is eye opening, but a little off topic. This book would have been great if it was a little longer.
very technical, a great read for anybody that actually wants to learn I.T. secrets. You pretty much have to already understand computer systems in detail to appreciate the read.
This document no doubt reveals the darker side of the Internet that we may have only heard about! If you want to learn about what really happens behind the scenes of secret "surfing," you will find this invaluable. Just as the author warns, though, illegal actions are prosecutable! Add this to your library of knowledge. A buck is a very worthwhile investment.
Not a bad reference book for curiosity, but, nothing groundbreaking either. If you want to learn what lies under the clear-web it gives you some information but not enough to get into serious trouble.
This is a great read. Like some other reviewers said, I think I would have enjoyed more detail and more content, but for the price this is both informational and an excellent resource! I would like to see more of these kinds of things.
The book covers many of the basic services and definitions needed to start in cybersecurity. However, the trip into be Internet Underground was short, even for a beginner's guide.
Overall a good read for those interested in cyber security and attacks. I would buy again. However, it could use more sources.
