Volume I, the first book in the series was a little hard to get into. Subsequent volumes are excellent and much easier to read; or perhaps I've just gotten into the flow, style of the writing. I listen to the books on my kindle just before retiring. Must say, one is transported into the lives of Jesus, Mary and the apostles via this series.
It is not a book to zip through. It encourages much thought about my own actions. Mary, though the mother of God, did not have an easy life. It is common to think that she had everything and not many difficulties because of who she was. If she trusted in God through all her difficulties, then maybe I should, too. We all want to have a life of comfort and ease, and that is not what she wanted. I'm looking forward to getting into the next book revealing more about her life. This first book covers from her conception to the visit by the archangel Gabriel at the annunciation to a 16th Century nun, Mary of Agreda. (please sign it ej)
A must read for anyone of significant Christian faith. It is considered the greatest literary treasure of Spain. There are three other volumes after you finish this first one (2500 pages total).
Very Good. I'm awaiting Volume IV The Coronation. This is much much cheaper compared to the other version of another publisher here, plus the other one has many typographical errors.
