Great booklet for the rosary, probably the best. But do not buy it on for $17. It is a $1.95 booklet as per the publisher (whom you can buy it from) and it is sold in many religious shops I have been to. It's outrageous that would sell it at such a premium. Hopefully they will adjust it.My one quibble about this book, and all of their kind, is that they include all four sets of the mysteries with the schedule but with no provision for praying and scheduling the original three sets. For something that is supposed to be optional all of the publishers seem to feel that the only way to pray the rosary is to pray all four sets.
When I was in second grade, my grandfather gifted this little book to me. It has been with me through childhood, teenage years, college, and young adulthood. I finally had to break down and buy a new one after I soaked it with water. To my delight, I found it now has a thicker (possibly more water resistant) cover. The old one was like magazine paper. This new one's cover is very thick stock paper and the interior pages are higher quality than a magazine's pages. Aside from that, with the new version, I learned about the new Luminous Mysteries put out by Pope John Paul II. This is by far my favorite rosary companion. Somehow the little paintings, scriptural readings and recommended prayers re the fruit of each mystery greatly enhance my ability to meditate on the mysteries. And, thanks to this book, I just learned this is important because in order to gain a plenary or partial indulgence, one must accompany recitation with pious meditation on the mysteries instead of just running through the prayers. I love this book! I have had a version of it for almost 30 years and I have ALWAYS known where my copy is if it wasn't actually with me. If you can't get it here, it is published by Catholic Book Publishing.
With it's scripture passages, it really helps you understand the true meaning of praying the Rosary. When you are praying about each mystery, your understanding of its meaning is greatly enhanced. I am devoted to the Rosary. And, this book has helped me greatly.
People often use the expression "That was a Godsend". Well that is so true for this booklet. I looked at various books about the rosary on because I had a desire to get back to praying the rosary. I wanted to make a Novena to Our Lady Undoer (or Untier) of Knots and wasn't sure of the names of the newer Luminous Mysteries. I bought several books but I love this one. The meditations for each bead keep me focused on my prayer. I thought maybe I would want some variety but have found that using the same mediation prayers for each bead that I had used the last time I had said that set of mysteries has only enhanced my prayer time. For example when I pray the Mystery of the Wedding Feast at Cana, I put myself in the picture, thinking of myself as one of the servants and another time as one of the Apostles seeing Jesus performing his first miracle. It's like taking a little camera around and focusing on different characters and their faith. The whole concept of the Institution of the Holy Eucharist has taken on new meaning for me just by meditating on a different bead. The word that comes to mind is "focus". I love being so much more focused than I was when I was younger. It is a perfect little booklet.The product title indicates 10 booklets but I only received one which is all I wanted. So I am not sure what it means in the title. I can't imagine getting 10 booklets for less than $2.00. I am buying two more copies so that I can keep one in my purse and one in my night table in addition to what I all my "Prayer Corner".
Loved the different ways of meditating with each of the mysteries. On days when you are saying your rosary & feel like your meditations are lacking, the scripture readings help you focus and add perhaps a different perspective that you haven't thought of in the past. Very, very helpful little book.
This is exactly what I was looking for. I thought this was only one booklet. But there are 10 copies so can share with others interested in learning the Rosary.
This lovely little booklet is a great help to anyone trying to pray the Rosary. The pictures are beautiful, an image is given for each mystery. The bookley includes all 20 mysteries and gives the fruit to be gained by praying the prayers. I use this booklet faithfully and it is great help to my prayer life. It arrived quickly, in good condition and well packaged.
Best rosary book ever! I used this to learn to say the rosary a year ago and since have bought and given it to many people who ask me where I found it. This book gives you multiple ways to say the rosary; either the traditional way, or if you have more time, a way to read a line a scripture between each Hail Mary prayer to help meditate on that mystery. It is so beautiful. It is small enough that I carry it in my purse at all times and at any time, such as in a waiting room, instead of looking at my phone for silly social media pictures, I can pull this out and pray a little very easily.
