I selected this atlas for my entire class to use because it is simple, colorful, and has just enough info. Two main reasons I chose it were that the price was right. The price of every other atlas I looked at placed them out of my budget. The main reason I like this atlas is that the maps are all printed on a single page. I do not like it when maps are split across the two pages, making them difficult to read. I have used an earlier edition of this atlas, and am in the process of replacing those books with this updated version. You really can't beat the price and the usefulness of this atlas. I recommend it for grades four through eight.
4th graders learn about the U.S. states and regions. This wonderful, colorful atlas is perfect for what my students need. Each state is given two pages - one for its map and information (such as state bird, tree, flower, motto, nickname, etc.) and one page for information given in paragraph form. One reviewer called the books "engaging", and they are! They are colorful and simple enough to catch the attention of elementary students and adults alike! Major cities and rivers are clearly marked on each map. I hope these never go out of print because I periodically buy new ones to replace worn ones. They are used on and off all year long!
The atlas is colorful and engaging. It has many text features to aid understanding and is very reader friendly!
