As a teacher, I highly recommend this book for an English classroom. When we covered idioms this year, I would have loved to have it then. There is always next year, and you can bet I will use it to help my students understand idiom meanings. He touched on MANY that I didn't. The pictures add to the meaning of each idiom and will certainly be a powerful teaching tool for visual learners.
I just bought this book and I am disappointed by the illustrations. They illustrate the literal meaning of the idiom, and not the actual meaning. For example, "hold your horses" has a man holding two horses. That is not helpful. A new learner of English may be able to picture that on his own. I was hoping for an illustration or cartoon that showed the real meaning, such as a child in a hurry. In this example a cartoon of a child about to run outside without her coat and a mother saying, "hold your horses, slow down. You need to put your coat on before you leave." Even an illustration of a man in a carriage or cart, holding back the reigns of his horse would be a better illustration of someone slowing down than a man actually holding two horses, one in each arm.There are idioms and they are defined. I will give this book two stars for that.

The book is not only full of idioms but at the same time presented in such a way which would really interest you to learn more ...Even boring idioms would seem intriguing … And the cartoons would compel you remember all the idioms you have learnt.......
