With musical notes all over the cover I expected this ebook to actually play the tune of the song. Although fairly well known it may not be known to new parents or may have been forgotten by grandparents. So it is just a book with photos and lyrics to a song.
I bought this book for my toddler granddaughter because they would sing this song and do the motions at her daycare. She absolutely loves it and has to have it read to her every night before going to bed. These are very interactive and durable books and I highly recommend them.
I downloaded and read The Wheels on the Bus: Sing 'N Move Book to my Kindle. I thought there was supposed to be sound but I couldn't get any sound.The story is cute, and if you love the old song The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round, you'll really love reading or sharing this book with your children.Each page of the book features a an action suggestion such as "Bounce Up and Down, like you're bouncing on the bus," along with the storyline. Cute illustrations help tell the story.Recommend with caveats given.
This is a review about the required device for reading, not the content. I did not imagine that the book would not work with the Kindle reader for the Mac. When I tried to download it I discovered that fact. For some reason it does work on Windows 8 but that is the only desktop platform available. I will be able to use it on my iPad, but this is a trend that I am wary of. Luckily it was free or I would have been much more upset.
No sound .... It calls it a sing along but not
Once again, books at at allow children to sing employ multiple intelligences and allow the children's brains to work in so many different ways. These books, even if READ OR SUNG TO A CHILD, build pre reading skills because of the amount of repetition that takes place in the songs. The children naturally learn the songs and soon think that they are "reading" the book. This is a pre reading skill as well.
It is much smaller than expected and there is really nothing to the book. I had one prior to it that costs half the price and it was adorable but unfortunately my son damaged it and we couldnt find one exactly like it. I didnt realize the return policy on this book was that you had to pay return shipping leaving your refund to be less than $1. I should have listened to the reviews when I read them. This is good for a baby but not really a toddler.
This short volume is fetchingly illustrated and includes several familiar stanzas of the ever-popular title; it is a hit with our household's 4-year-old, who likes to sing at least one of the three "Genius" titles that we have every night before going to bed. It could have included more of the endless verses -- even listing a few more might help a tired adult after a long day -- but we make up our own or take some from other versions if we want a longer songfest. The book comes across well in Kindle format (not all books with illustrations do) -- the colors are bright and clear on our Android tablet. Simple movements are suggested, to imitate movement of windows or wipers, a very, very basic way to stimulate movement. "Genius" seems to be a bit of hyperbole but it's an attractive, fun book.
