I'm in the process of learning about information security and have been quite overwhelmed with what is available. This book provides a shorter overview of the topic areas so I can see the high level view. It is a great jumping off point to other longer, more technical books on the subject. It appears to be a good overview for the CISSP exam also, although I am a number of years off from qualifying for that exam.

I read this book twice in the month and a half that I took the test, and felt that it was pretty effective in helping me with main points of the exam. I also did many practice exams and questions to prepare. I was able to pass the test, so I think the book helped to support other preparations I did.

Minus one star for the book being too basic (even for a "for dummies" series). Not at all rigorous.
