As a parent, this is my new favorite book. It hits my top 3 of all time favorite children books, and you MUST buy the book with the mitts. This hardboard case open and closes with magnets for easy reuse. The monster tickle mitts for adults are included with the book. Although, we let our three year old wear them and tickle us as we go through the pages. It's a must have for every family!
I purchased this as a gift for our daughter for Christmas and it has been a hit since. On the first day, she toddled over to us 5 times to read it. Since, she brings us the gloves at least once a day and proclaims, "Tickle?"It's a bit of a long read for an 18 month old but she loves it so much she always requests to finish it in its entirety.It also provides alot of exercise for the reader as you're guaranteed to chase around your listener as he/she anticipates the tickles.With this set alone, I've seen my daughter learn to anticipate, learn words, learn to clean up and learn to start and finish a book.At the end of the story, she also puts the gloves and book away in her special box which is easy to open for a toddler.I highly recommend this book.
I just recieved this for our daughters first christmas, she is only eight months old but already loves the mitts! I read it to her and strait away she was giggling, actually both of us were! The gloves are so soft too! This is seriously going to be a household favorite and what a great way to spend some quality time with your children and create memories. I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! Everyone I know with kids will be getting this as a gift from me, you won't be sorry!
I have to tell you that the Tickle Monster book experience is a memory my grandchildren will most remember us by. I read the story while Grandpa is the Tickle Monster. Everyone hits the bathroom first .. And then lies on the floor just waiting for the tickles, belly laughs , and FUN. This has happened on the last night of our visit with every trip we make to see our grandkids and they are now 7-12 !!! .. And they are the ones who request it. I will be the one so disappointed when they get to big to enjoy it but for right now I can not recommend this highly enough as a way to really connect with a special child in your life . Those few minutes of laughing together are priceless! We all love it !!! I've purchased several for gifts and even the used ones are a great find. Just make sure you get the mitts !!!
I bought this book 6 years ago for my first child and he couldn't get enough of this book. He loved every moment and begged to have this story before bed every night. I now read it to my 3 year old for his bedtime story and it is the same thing all over again. He begs every night to read it, runs ahead of me to his room at bed time and pulls the box out. When we are done he makes sure the book is put safely back in the box he loves it so much. The greatest part is that my now 8 year old STILL LOVES THIS BOOK!!!! When I start reading it to my 3 year old his older brother runs and climbs into bed and insists on reading it to him while I am the tickle monster.I am considering buying two more boxes and keeping them safe until my children are older in case they one day have children and our book hasn't lasted or can no longer be found. I want them to be able to enjoy it with their children, this book is one of the great memories we will all have of their childhood. I cannot recommend this enough.
We purchased this as a suprise for our son and have had the best time making memories! We read it about every other night, one of the parents sits behind the rocker while the other reads then we reach out and tickle our son while the story is being read. He LOVES it! Our son starts to giggle as soon as we pick up the book because he knows he is going to be tickled. Both me and my husband end up laughing right along with him because it is so much fun. I have started to make this the go to gift for any toddler/child. It is great! It has quickly become a family favorite and our storytime will never be the same!!
Both my kids love this (they are 4 and 2). The book is funny and age appropriate. The gloves are great and my kids always laugh when we start tickling them. Just don't creep in the middle of the night wearing the gloves to surprise them...it will scar them.I may be sappy, but the book has a nice tone and tells your kids you "love" them...more parents need to do that these days!
I gave this to my nephew on his 4th birthday thinking that his 1st reaction after opening it and saw it was a book would be to toss it aside and continue to excitedly rip open all his new toys. After the novelty of those wore off and he settled down and was willing to sit still to give the book a chance, only THEN would he fall in love with it. (He's not easy to impress for a 4 year old lol) Much to my surprise, he opened up the adorable box it comes in and his eyes lit up as he put on the tickle monster mitts and immediately asked me to read the book to him (twice and then tried to get me to read it to his dad because he thought it was the funniest book ever) all while he still had at least 15 big toys waiting to be unwrapped. He wore the mitts around for hours showing them off to everyone at his party and tears were shed by quite a few of his friends who wanted their own mitts!
