I give it 2 stars just because of the work that went into putting the books together. This book is actually 2 or 3 books put together in some sort of chronological order. I already own the Book of Enoch and some other similar texts, and this (The Book of Giants itself) is not enough to publish to make its own book. So if you own the other books i really cannot recommend that you get this one. There simply is not enough new information to warrant spending the cash. The Book of Giants information is heavily fragmented and almost unreadable at times. Key words are missing, sometimes an entire end or beginning of sentence is lost. When they are combined together, after the first portion of Enoch, the Book of Giants is non-existent since it is so short. So even though it is interesting information, and corroborates the other books, and may offer a new name or 2, there really is not enough additional information to make this a worthwhile purchase. In the event you do not own the book of Enoch and you are in the process of learning from a beginners level, this is an interesting read to get most of the information in one place, but again, you will have to deal with fragmented information in sections and it becomes frustrating at times in the first section.
Really hard to determine rather it's true or fiction. I do believe angels were called Watchers and there was a Nephilim race, but since I am not a scholar, I can't say for sure how to read it without scripture to back up all that was written in this book.
I purchased the Kindle version and am so very happy I did. What a great resource, blending scripture and footnotes into these ancient texts. I highly recommend this version. I have a couple other books on the Book of Enoch, but this one proved to be the most useful for me. It's interesting that the Book of Enoch, though referenced through the scripture, is omitted from the Bible. Reading ancient texts really affirms the teaching in scripture and provides background information that helps to put scripture in context.
Really enjoyed it, but of course I love anything I can get my hands on that has bible history. I don't agree with the writer when using references that are not used out of the KJV Bible, so make sure you have a good amount of knowledge of the word of God before reading and believing books like these. This one has so far been pretty good. I have purchased several of Ken Johnson's books over the past few months and he does a good job explaining and comparing these writings to the Bible as well as a brief history of where these writings come from. The only thing I don't agree with him is that he uses quotes from other bibles instead of the KJV and he apparently believes that God is Jesus in his personal statements, which is what we would call a "Jesus Only". Other than that it's a good read and a decent price....
I love GOD'S WORD there is nothing like it in the whole world, The Book Of Enoch is an important part to have with the study of GOD'S WORD, as well as The Apocrypha Books, I had to get this book when I seen it, and I am careful about what I'm reading when it comes to GOD'S TRUTH
great eye opening. I got this book and I'm discovering all cultures had similar historical accounts. Three giants found in the same state I live in one county over in the Indian Serpins mounds
Thought provoking! Helps explain cultural mythology, paganism and what Jesus/God has done to provide an untainted bloodline for our Savior to be the pure sacrifice for mankind!
If you are into conspiracy theory this book is very informative and a good read. In some spots it gets a bit dry but still a good book.
