The Stations of the Cross is a beautiful catholic coloring book, I just colored one page and look forward to doing more. I love how there is space to journal after prayer with this one. The stained glass images of Jesus are just so beautiful. I'm looking forward to being able to give my friend one of my completed coloring pages. I used marker on my first page and I uploaded for you to see what you will be getting with you buy this book. Perfect book for the beginner who is just starting out to color again as an adult. May you enjoy this book like all the others who have reviewed this as well.
This is a delightful and wonderful book full of some of the best scripture you can find from the catholic bible a long side beautifully designed works of art that look like the glass windows at church just for you to color. All pages are one sided and thick enough for any mediums you like or would want to use while coloring. I've done one page so far with just sharpies and just added a page or two in the back to protect the next page. The sharpies worked very well in this book and look great! A coloring book like this would be a great addition to any collection or as a gift to someone you know who loves to color and read scripture at the same time. The cover is very eye catching and lovely as well. There is over 20 pages to color and each picture comes a long with scripture to color and read as well. Each page a long side the scripture has a section you can personally write in anything you would like.
Appreciate the blend of traditional and familiar liturgical prayers with the stained glass-looking artwork - purchased these for hospitalized adults and older children who are not able to attend services due to illness, injury, or disability. This will provide an opportunity for Lenten reflection and prayer with creative expression. Looking forward to receiving the Spanish language version as well.
This adult coloring book will be especially helpful for Catholics who have grown up with this devotion; for those not so fortunate, using this book for meditation, prayer, or relaxation will be a great learning experience. Just imagine the benefit of prayerfully coloring one or two stations per month for the next year. You will be well prepared for the next season of Lent!
I bought this for my mother so she can participate in the stations of the Cross even though she is not physically able to attend at church. Such a unique and inspiring way for her to practice her faith.
I was delighted when the authors contacted me about this book, and asked if I would like a free copy for an unbiased review. I have never seen anything like it before. It is a wonderful idea that anyone can benefit from, and especially shut-ins who are unable to attend the Stations of the Cross in church.The prayers and meditations in this book are beautiful and thought provoking. The meditation for the XXII Station, Jesus Dies upon the Cross, is as follows: “Lord, it is here on the cross that you ask the Father to forgive me, here you give me your mother to be my heavenly mother, here you promise me to be with you in your kingdom. I come to meet you and to partake of your holy sacrifices as I receive you in Holy Communion.”This book contains 14 Stations of the Cross. It does not include the 15th Station added by Pope St. John Paul II in 2000. Our parish does not include the 15th Station, and I am pleased with this choice.The backs of all the pages are blank, which is a great idea for a coloring book. I have seen too many pages in other coloring books ruined by colors bleeding through.I am looking forward to Drawn to Faith's next book, "The Mysteries of the Rosary".
Drawn to Faith has provided a unique way of entering into the Lenten journey for people of all ages. The fourteen traditional steps toward Jesus' crucifixion and burial are presented as a stained glass mosaic. Each station is presented on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper that is blank on the opposite side so as to prevent the problem of bleed through as the participant prayerfully colors each page. Providing a blank reverse side also facilitates the removal of each page so that the completed art work can be removed and displayed. Each page is accompanied by another page that provides a scriptural introduction and a short prayer to accompany that step on Jesus' journey. This page can also be colored and is blank on the reverse side. One suggestion would be to have the pages perforated so that they could be easily removed and displayed.I received the book for free as part of the author's preferred reviewer program.
I love stained glass art! This is a wonderful coloring book, beautiful illustration, nice thick paper. On the left page is a scripture passage for the station, a prayer/meditation, and a space for writing your own reflections. I found it easy to contemplate on that event in the Passion of Christ as I color, maybe its cause i'm looking at a picture slowly coming alive.. if you have a difficult time meditating like me, i think this would be a good tool to help you. And when you're done coloring a page, you have made a good meditation and a new piece of art to keep!I received this book for free as part of a preferred reviewer program.
