My grandsons 5 & 7 need books to learn to read. This is perfect for the 7 yr old and we use it for the 5 yr old to learn his sight words and he loves to hear bible stories! Plus these are what he will learn to read with also!
I bought this book from in the Spanish English translation for a little friend of mine who is 8. Normally she would not be reading something so simple but she is Spanish speaking and wants to learn English. These little books are perfect starter books. She is being raised Catholic and so is familiar with these basic Bible Stories for children. It helps her learn her English easily. Her Mom gave permission for her having these Bible stories.I am amazed at the completeness of these books. They give the basic situation in which Jesus is feeding the crowds, conveys His compassion for the people and demonstrates His miracle working abililities. The books are 32 pages long with one paragraph to a page which makes these books easy for young readers to stay on top of. The repetiton of words makes for an easy learning atmosphere, but there is enough story line that they do not become boring.I really like the pictures. The person who did them captures the essence of the people's emotions and thoughts with just a little squiggle of a line. They are done in bright colors for the youngsters and the people in the stories come in various skin shades which helps any little reader relate.My friend really enjoys this series and I hope your children will also.
This little book is very readable for young children and has bright illustrations. I gave it 4 stars because I would have liked for Jesus to have a larger role in the book.
Perfect book for my 5 year old to read to me and she is learning so much in the process. She has several of these now and knows all of the stories by heart!
What a wonderful way to share gospel stories. Great for the new reader and parents who want wholesome material. I would get many of these in the future!
The pictures are very colorful. They are very attractive to children. Great book to read with your child. Great recourse for children's group.
