Over the years my family has greatly enjoyed the Little People line of books and products for children. We have some of the toys and videos, and we also enjoy their line of Lift-the-Flap books. Although we have several others, I wanted to try this one because of the Biblical theme of Noah and the Animals. There are 5 short paragraphs of reading total, so this would be a very quick read as a bedtime story. However, there are 50 flaps to open and other activities such as finding themes of objects on the page-- such as "Find all the apples - there are 8". So the possibilities for different age groups are wide-- read the story to your toddler, then play with the flaps and activities with your preschooler. As far as the religious themes, God is mentioned three times. There is no mention of those who died in the catastrophe or the reason for the flood. It's presented in a very innocent fashion, appropriate for young children.I wish the book had a few more pages, as there are only 10 pages of flaps. But given the subject matter, I believe that's as much they could have done with it. A wonderful product!

I am a big fan of Fisher Price items; however, I have never owned one of their books. I have bought their toys and think they are of superb quality. My daughter is 16 months and I read her a book every night before bed. She likes to look at the books while I read to her and then after. I will say this book is very easy to read. My daughter seems to enjoy it but loves the illustrations the most. I can also open a lot of the windows and she will know what animal is in some of the pictures, like "Monkey". She does not know a lot of words but she can recognize them and nods when I point them out.The story is cute and short. The biggest thing keeping me from giving it a rating higher than 3, is how cheaply it is made. The cardboard box it came in was much stronger than the book. It is very thin and warped. It does not lay flat at all and bends very easily. The flaps that open the window (s) in the book are also very thin and are already showing wear. I don't expect this book to last long and that is with only me handling it.It is cute, but it is not made well. If you want a book your infant can have later on in life, this is not the book. I have bought my daughter books for half the price that are true hardcover that will last for years to come. Because it is not made well, I cannot recommend it.

We have had different versions of these Little People Lift the Flap books for all of my kids. I was excited to see a Noah and the Animal book. My boys have all loved these and my 1 yr old is now getting to try them out. The flaps are very easy for the kids to lift and they love opening them to see what surprise is behind them. They can tear but they hold up very well for what they are made out of. The book teaches kids about counting, animal sounds, and shapes. The books are pretty much the same ideas they are just presented with different characters and different situations(that way you dont get tired of reading the same book). Overall a gret book that kids love.

My 14 month old now has 4 of these Little People flap books and she loves them. She started looking at the 2 we had (farm and transportation) around 8-9 months old and pretty much had them memorized to the point I could say "cow" and she'd open the flap with the cow hidden behind it (etc). So I decided to get her a couple new ones (zoo and Noah's ark). She loves them just as much and is on her way to memorizing them too.Great book for learning names of animals, vehicles, etc, for motor skills, brain processes (figuring out which direction flaps open), and memorization. In short, I'd highly recommend these books for all babies and toddlers.

We have several of these Fisher Price lift the flap books and will be buying more. While they may not be my favorites, our girls love them and often pull them off the shelf to read on their own. They're usually the first books they reach for when it's time for bedtime stories. This one's pretty simple, it shows Noah and his animal friends (including penguins and kangaroos, which my wife considers unrealisitic) building the ark, boarding the ark, surviving the flood (no mention of everyone else in the world dying), seeing the returning dove, and finally landing. The colors are bright, the illustrations are cute, some of the flaps are clever and our babies love them. The flaps are well-made and we've yet to tear even one.You can't ask for much more.

Little People are great, and I'm typically a fan of their toys. So it was no surprise that my two year old a I both enjoy this book. There are so many flaps and things to look at or for, we can turn storytime into a game. He's learned the names of so many animals just looking at this one book, and it also has counting, patterns and shapes. It's a book that can take 2 minutes or 30 minutes to read, depending on how you go through it!

This is a really good example of a lift the flap book. My 2yr old loves the pictures and story (which is a very basic version of Noah and the Ark) and has a great time opening and closing the flaps as well as pointing out all the animals and what they are doing along with the colors and shapes in the book. The pages are just thick enough to be sturdy for little fingers but not cumbersome, the flaps are well cut and the pictures match up really well when the flaps are open or closed. It's a great book, no complaints!
