This book is great! The only problem I had is that it cover almost the same topics as "The Care of You1". I purchased them together and wish that I had only purchased the other.
My 10 year old was soooooo excited to get this book and read it over and over for the next few weeks. She had so many questions about puberty and this book covered it all. It also let her know that I was here for her and interested in what was going on with her.
My daughter loves these books. It answers a lot of questions that she may have about growing up. She loves to talk about the information with me and when we talk she feels more comfortable asking questions. She wants me to order more of the books. In particular the one called "Boys". Not sure I'm ready for that one. You can never be to informed, so I'm happy to help her.
We enjoy the American girl series. We have several different ones, this one in particular.My daughter to keeps them in her room...she enjoys them and often times they open up conversation without my having to pepper her.
Got this and 2 other books in the series that were recommended by my children's pediatrician. My daughter highly regards these and often refers to the books to get information. She even asks me to read them with her (which is a plus and time for some mother/daughter bonding). I will get these for my other 2 girls when they come of age.
This book is awesome for my daughter. She has read it talked to me about some of her own questions and things she learned in the book.
These series of books cover the basic topics to discuss with pre-teens and teens. They are an excellent source of information for girls about what they are experiencing as they grow. I read it to my 10 yr old and then she read it so that if she had more answers we could go over them together. The information is clear and well presented, not in confusing terms.
My daughter has most of the books in this series and has read each of them multiple times. They are the perfect answer for tween girls, especially those who are extremely shy or introverted and uncomfortable with having the important conversations. When I try to talk to my daughter, she shuts down and cries, but she will read these books. Most importantly, they help her. I highly recommend the entire series to all moms out there. They are a lifesaver.
