Ebooks Online

Popular author and speaker John Pontius has once again written a classic! As the world anticipates its end, we Latter-day Saints are preparing to build the city of Zion. With so much emphasis on building Zion physically on Earth, we sometimes forget that the best place to build Zion is within our own hearts. John Pontius carefully details the importance of Zion in our own lives, opening our eyes to our oft-overlooked obligations and vast privileges. With hundreds of references from the scriptures and the prophets of our dispensation, The Triumph of Zion Our Personal Quest for the New Jerusalem will guide you in obtaining the blessings of Zion for yourself and your family.

This is the second book by John M. Pontius that I have read. The first was Following the Light of Christ into His Presence. This book, The Triumph of Zion, is an inspiring book. It sets the mark so high for Latter-day Saints. I don't think anyone that is not an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will get much benefit from this book. It is faith building, well referenced, and well written. I will use this book as a reference for many years to come. It has ten chapters and each chapter is divided into numerous sub-headings which makes it easy to find and re-read subjects that interest you or you want to readdress. I usually devour a book in a couple of days and this one took me over a week and I am still pondering it's message. It definitely has inspired me to become a better person. I really can't say enough good about this book.

I picked up this book after starting to read the unblog that Brother John keeps. I found his words on his blog resonating with my own spiritual path and found great power in the words. This book is his blog on steroids. I have felt compelled to seek this path of inner Zion with great fervor, and this book has guided me in my study of the scriptures. There is nothing new, or innovative within the text. In fact it is a call to remember what has been in front of us since the restoration of the Gospel. If you're even reading this comment, then I believe you have felt this stirring yourself. Whether of not you choose to use this book as a help in your journey, listen to the call. We are Zion, we just don't know it yet.

The attainment of Zion is the greatest blessing that any person can reach in this life, and yet so little is known about it. The beauty of this book is that it defines what Zion is, how to obtain it, and the gifts, blessings, empowerments, and privileges that precede and accompany becoming a zion individual and society. I have been a truth seeker all my life, and I can honostly say that this book is the most profound book outside of Holy Writ that I have ever read on how to recieve the fullest blessings of God IN THIS LIFE. John Pontius is a very gifted writer, but the truths that he writes about in his book did not originate from him; there are literally hundreds of quotes from ancient as well as modern prophets and apostles that he gives to let the reader know that these blessings, as wonderful as they are, are not his views alone. All the holy prophets from the beginning have longed for the day when Zion would be built up in all its glory, but they knew that that time was reserved for the last days, the days we are now living in. To those who fear the events that are soon to come upon the earth, I strongly recommend this book for you because what most people don't know is that the greatest and most glorious events are soon to come also. The is the 2nd Book I have read by John Pontious. I found both his previous book and his new one, "The Triumph of Zion" to be the two most powerful books I have ever read with the exception of the Scriptures. These books help to explain to honest "seekers of truth" the power behind the scriptures. Those who are content to swim on the scripture surface rather than enjoy the mysteries of the deep, may have trouble with these books. However, his books have helped me to understand powerful spiritual experiences that I have already had, and the ones that I am yet still looking forward to.Thank you, Bro. Pontious!

The topic of "Zion" can be very intimidating once a person truly begins to understand what it means. I am very cautious with my belief so I admit that it took some time before the numerous scriptures and quotes from general authorities turned hope into understanding and faith. After counseling with family and asking God in prayer, I soon began to overcome the veil of unbelief. Now I have a strong testimony of my own that the things taught in this book are true and should be applied with zealous urgency.Every word conforms to the teachings of the standard works and modern revelation. It simply discusses a sacred topic in more detail than is usually discussed in common sunday school meetings where all levels of spiritual preparation must be accommodated. This book has helped me to immediately improve my faith in the gospel. Now I realize that the gospel is so much more than a collection of weak truisms that could only apply to ancient saints with special privileges. Finally I am starting to perceive the testimonies of prophets as a pattern that I can follow to draw closer to God in this life than I ever thought possible. This pattern helps me change the way I live each day. As I seek to become worthy for the great blessings that God is so eager to grant those with eyes to see and ears to hear, I am even more motivated to repent now instead of procrastinating change, choose to be humble instead of being compelled, and constantly seek a relationship with my Savior instead of just casually glancing in His direction on Sundays.Give this book a chance. I promise that if you approach its material with an open mind, you will feel the peaceful spirit of truth within the first few pages and have all the motivation you need to gain a testimony of its immense value for yourself.
