A sturdy colorful board book that gives a positive peek at the perks of being a big sibling, this book is just what i was hoping for. It is not a direct adaptation of the corresponding episodes of the show but it hits all the same major points. It reads more like a day in the life of Daniel as a big brother. It could also stand alone for those that aren't familiar with the characters but want an uplifting sibling book. It does not focus on negative sibling interaction like some do, but instead boosts confidence by talking about how baby's nap can be special time for the rest of the family.
This is a good book for anyone who is a Daniel Tiger fan! My daughter loves this show and so we ordered the book after telling her she would be a big sister. It's cute and has simple text and she likes it because she knows the characters. It talks about Daniel being happy to have a baby sister and it mentions that she is little and sometimes cries a lot. It talks about how Daniel is a big helper by helping his mom feed the baby a bottle and helping his dad with diapers, and he gets special time with Mom and Dad when she naps. Cute, simple, positive, and good for anyone who likes the show!! It repeats the phrase "You can be a big helper at your house" several times, which is also a song from a Daniel Tiger episode.
I got this book, along with a few others, for my 3 yo son when my daughter was born. He liked this one the best. He seemed to really relate to Daniel Tiger, and he wanted to help just like Daniel Tiger did.
My 2 year old takes her Baby Margaret doll everywhere and this book is a delight to her. Beautiful illustrations that look just like the show she loves, with lots of pictures of her favorite character. On the page where Margaret is crying my toddler points and fake-cries. Then on the page where Margaret is laying in her crib she points and says "nuh-night". It's very sweet.
I bought this for my 2 year old son ahead the arrival of baby number 2. He enjoys the book and the subject mater is very age appropriate. It teaches him the ways he can help with the new baby. I like the approach as it encourages the older child to participate in the daily tasks of caring for the baby.
This book is the perfect gift to give a new big brother or sister on the occasion of their sibling's birth. In the book Daniel deals graciously with the birth of his new sister, and instead of feeling left out he finds little ways to help mom and dad with the baby. Excellent book. Highly recommend
As a Poatpartum Doula, I work with families that have older siblings. This book is a great addition to my client library! The little boys love it when I read it to them. I highly recommend this book to expecting parents that have a son.
Super cute book about one of our favorite characters. It talks about how Daniel got a new sister, how he helps and how he sometimes needs mom and dad time without the baby! I think it is great for children who become older siblings because it shows Daniel has the same feels as them!
