Ebooks Online

Magnificently capturing the colorful world of Islam for the youngest readers, this breathtaking and informative picture book celebrates Islam's beauty and traditions. From a red prayer rug to a blue hijab, everyday colors are given special meaning as young readers learn about clothing, food, and other important elements of Islamic culture, with a young Muslim girl as a guide. Sure to inspire questions and observations about world religions and cultures, Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns is equally at home in a classroom reading circle as it is being read to a child on a parent's lap. Plus, this is a fixed-format version of the book, which looks nearly identical to the print version.

First, I love the beautiful illustrations that glow with color and reflect the love of the family shown in the text. Secondly, I appreciate learning about the practice of Islam. I am an American Christian who has only visited mosques as a tourist and observed Muslims through books and newsreels. Thirdly, the lovely girl who is the main character reminds me of my three granddaughters! Good for readers of ALL ages.

I just received this book in the mail. I immediately read the story with my two daughters, ages 6 and 4. There eyes sparkled wide with delight. So did mine. It is rare to find a quality book for Muslim children or about Islamic culture, and this book is rare gem. I admire the book for its simplicity and lyrical rhymes. It is soulful and colorful, a wonderful book for all ages. I even read it to my husband; he too enjoyed it! Strongly recommend.

LOVE THIS BOOK. It's really cute. The story line is adorable - I love the rhymes - love the pictures. The only reason I'm docking a star is because I REALLY which it was a board book. I love it so much I have to keep it away from my 8 month old while reading to him, otherwise he'll chew it up. But I'd totally but this again in a heartbeat!

I'm always looking for great books to either keep for myself or to give as gifts during Muslim holidays...this book fit the bill for both. It's beautifully illustrated and serves as a product to keep or to give away. The only thing is it should be used for a child very young in age as there are hardly any words and it is geared more for a three year old.

The cutest book ever! I love the full page colorful photos, the clever rhymes, and the fact that I can teach my kids about Islam with a fun and beautiful book. This is a must have for any household library, Muslim or not.

I just received this book today, I purchased it for my son and I love it! So does he! The illustrations are beautiful and it's a great easy read to keep children interested. I've already told my friends with kids that it's a must buy. For Muslim children and other than! I'm looking forward to more of henas books!

This book is really nice. It teaches culturally Islamic things without being overly religious. It uses great artwork that kids love with vibrant colors. It's excellent, particularly for small kids. And even though the main character is a girl, the book would be just as good for a boy. I definately recommend it.

The book is nice; only qualm about it is that perhaps the characters did not have to be so light skinned. I bought it for my one year old daughter but I don't think she'll be fully ready for this book for another year as the sentences are not as short as her baby books. Would recommend for ages 2-2.5+.
