Harold Lee "Hal" Lindsey (born 1929) is a best-selling author, who is currently host of "The Hal Lindsey Report" TV program (for which he himself provides the financing). He formerly hosted the "International Intelligence Briefing" on TBN, but the show was removed as being too "pro-Israel"/"anti-Arab." Controversially, he has divorced three times and married four times. (His second wife, Jan, was the best-known, as she was featured on the back cover of his early books.) He has written many other books, including Satan Is Alive and Well on Planet Earth; There's a New World Coming; The Terminal Generation; The 1980s: Countdown to Armageddon; The Messiah [aka 'The Promise']; The Rapture; Planet Earth, 2000 A. D.; The Final Battle; Planet Earth: The Final Chapter; Vanished Into Thin Air, etc. Carole C. Carson was his co-author for "Late Great," "Satan," and "Terminal Generation."This 1970 book, his first, was a MEGA-bestseller, selling more than 28 million copies. He wrote in the Introduction, "For the past thirteen years I have been giving messages on Bible prophecy... I make no claim of knowing exactly when the world is going to end... I believe in a hope for the future... let's give God a chance to present His views. In this book I am attempting to step aside and let the prophets speak." Significantly, he quotes Deut 18:22, then points out, "Failure to pass the test of a true prophet was a bit severe. The only grade allowed was one of 100 percent accuracy.
