As I often do, I picked this up on the free list. Hoping, as usual, to find an author I could follow. This time, I found far more! If this story is any example, I've found a writer both my wife and I can enjoy. I loved this book! It's complexity was much greater than I expected, with the hints of stories already told, and more to come. I have been converted. This is an author I will be following closely!
'To Make a Witch' is an adventure with different beings. I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, but the storyline was still easy for me to follow. Full of interesting paranormal beings and action. The humor had me laughing out loud. The characters were good. Lacey was an intriguing lead. She seemed to be in a constant state of losing or maintaining her control. An overall good novella.
I wasn't sure at first if I would like this book. I read Bound in Blue by the same author, and I didn't like this character all that much. Glad I gave it a chance! The character development was great, and I really have sympathy and empathy for the main character Lacey now. This is a stand alone novella, but I highly recommend reading Bound in Blue first.
I choose a 3-star rating because I didn't particularly enjoy reading this story. I didn't like the characters or their purposes. It made me feel like I would not want to visit Louisiana anytime soon if ever. My conscience prevents a recommendation of this book.....sorry.
I am a complete sucker for any books about witches. I especially loved this one. The characters and the fast paced plot were fantastic. It was a quick, but good read. I recommend it to any witch/paranormal lovers. You won't be disappointed.
Loved the plot. I felt like this book dove right into the story without much background or character development. It was hard for me to connect with the main character. I would like to read more about her however.
