I'm certainly looking forward to reading more into this tale of a Northern warrior who, while wishing for peace and a smiths forge of his own, constantly finds people in trouble and can't bring himself to let them be and saves them. His small country is saved during an unmatched battle. A trader convoy is saved because he outsmarts and out maneuvers them, many against one north man giant. And more. Better yet he makes exquisite jewelry, I wish to see it so badly, it was described so beautifully. Alas, I wish to get the next book so that I may read more into an excellent and honorable character.

This was my first book by Robyn Wideman. I'm happy to say it won't be my last. Soron is the son of the self proclaimed King of the North (I'll admit I was a little nervous at his title after reading another very well know fantasy series that was made into a show that also had a King of the North. I'm happy to say there wasn't really any other similarity. During the course of the story, we follow Soron in his adventures. From fighting a Yeti, to battling a foreign warlord, to battling cut throats and rapists. I like Soron's character and Robyn's world building and story telling. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good light fantasy. I was in the mood for something that wasn't too heavy, and this did the trick. And don't get hung up on the recommended age range! I'm way over that, and I have to say I'm hooked. As soon as I finish this review, I am off to download the next book!

Riveting storyline. I love the gentle, almost whimsicle mannerisms of sweet Soron. I selfishly want to hear more of his story. I admit I was left hanging regarding the mine he found when he battled the Yeti. When he went out to meet the invading king, the fight was magical but without arrogant flair. Soron humbly accepted the quest in an attempt to save his people, not to claim fame.Later, in Venicia, he quickly builds a reputation that he does not arrogantly flaunt. The story paints a detailed background without wasting time on irrelevant details. Mr. Wideman draws readers in close and does not let them go until he is finished with them. Unfortunately for me, the next book in the Stoneblood Saga has yet to be released. I will have to get the rest of his books ASAPHurry with the rest of Nathan's story (or more of it, at least, if this is not the conclusionTHANK YOU

You have to read this short story of our hero's father to understand the rest of the series. This series grabs you from the beginning and does not let you put it down. Dare I say this is as good as Goodkind and Jordan, and has enough to be a ten book series if the Author gets busy(hint, hint) I need more ASAP

I chose this rating because it is the most exciting story I have read in a long time. I can't wait to get the next book. I would recommend this Saga to anyone who love adventure and romance.
