This science book is a very attractive book with a lot of helpful pictures, drawings and charts. There is a lot of vocabulary in the text, yet it is written in a very user friendly manner. I would recommend this textbook to others.
I was so excited to see a full biology text for high schoolers written from a Christian, non-evolutionary perspective. Unfortunately, this text is very difficult to understand. I feel so badly that I used this book for about half a year before getting my daughter some other books. The section on genetics was so difficult that I couldn't even understand it. Fortunately, my daughter feels she retained more of the information because she had to read it so many times in order to understand it -- but that, to me, is not the right way to teach! It is a beautiful book with nice illustrations, but not easy to understand without an instructor well-versed in biology -- in other words, not for homeschoolers.
I am very pleased with the argument that evolution is only a theory that requires far more faith than creationism. It may be "irritating" for some to be challenged by this truth, but that does not change the fact that the evolutionary rhetoric that the public school system has forced down our throats is totally wrong.
