This is a valuable resource for your money. It countains 61 stories to make mini books. Each story has a title cover, 6 pictures about the story and a page to respond to the story that also tells where the story is found. You could also enlarge each picture have the children color them and then tell the stories using their pictures and to make a class book. With a little immagination the pictures could also be turned into puppets or flannelgraph figgures.
These books are very easy to copy and cut up for handouts. Some previous reviewers seem to have problems figuring things out (don't mean to be disparaging) but these are so wonderful for practice reading while reinforcing the familiar Bible stories. If the readers are not familiar with the Bible stories and learning to read, these are even better! They are getting the gospel, and I pray over my handouts that the Holy Spirit will use His power to accomplish what He will with that effort. Pictures greatly help with reading comprehension, so all in all, I love these little books. I make each story on a different color of copy paper so as to keep them easily separated. God Bless!
We have used both the Old and New Testament versions of this classroom resource for our multi-age classroom.1. Their copywrite allows us to make classroom copies which is very important to us.2. The books are easy for 2nd graders to read,3. The line drawings can be colored by our younger students,4. The lessons are Biblical with the book and verse on the last page but translated into understandable language for our students5. Students have the lesson to take home and review with their parents.
This version actually arrived after my other purchase. They were supposedly sent on the same day. I really liked the format and content. I found myself wanting more...I hope they will come out with a second version in the near future.
I am very pleased with this book. It has many stores to make into books. My 5 1/2 year old loves it.
