It is suitable for young children. I would have liked the dvd to include actual videos instead of just being a read a long, semi animated, version of the book it comes with.
This is my 3.5 year old favorite bible now. He loves to watch the DVD and listen to audio in the car as well. After a week he could 'read' his favorite stories because of how often we listen to it. The stories are written in a simple straight forward way, which he prefers to his other more kiddy bible.

So excited for this review. I get the chance to work with some really great people and companies and when I saw this product I was indeed pleased that I would get a chance to review it. I will be reviewing several of the Beginner's Bible products over the next few weeks. The Beginner's Bible Collector's edition is a classic set that all children will love. You have their classic Beginner's Bible included along with 2 CDs and 1 DVD. The CDS are audios and the DVD is filled with 94 Bible stories that can be read right along with the Bible storybook that is included, and it all fits neatly into a slip case. The book is a hardcover containing 512 pages. The age group that this product targets is the 4-8 year range. It is a great gift idea! I plan on using it at home as well as with my Sunday School class. With three kids from ages seven down to one; it's hard to find things that all three will enjoying reading, watching and listening to. I have found the perfect solution in the Beginners Bible Collectors Edition! It has something for everyone.The set includes the storybook Bible, a recording of the stories on two CD's and a DVD with a video for each story. I love this CD! All kids learn differently. My seven year old is reading now so he really likes to read the stories to his younger sister and brother. My five and one year olds are both very visual so the DVD is perfect for them. This year as my five year old enters first grade, the CD's will also be beneficial so that she can follow along in the storybook while she listens to help her with reading.We have enjoyed all of the Beginners Bible books and at this point my kids are very familiar with the format and the characters. They like the illustrations and they are bright and bold enough to appeal to a one year old but also detailed enough so that my seven year old could read these stories through the pictures alone.It was really fun to watch these characters come to life for the first time and they were exactly as we expected them to be.The Beginners Bible Collectors Edition is a great gift for a family with children of different ages. There's something for everyone!
What a great collection for preschooler and early elementary children! Perfect for beginning readers, and coms with CD and DVDs with over 90 different Bible stories included. Perfect for churches, for preschools, for Christian schools, for grandparents (to entertain visiting grandchildren). A great collection. My only complaint was the DVDs were semi-animated, and rather boring (to me) and my youngest (age 10) wasn't real impressed with them either.
I have been trying to think of what "first bible" we should purchase for our children. I believe my first bible was a small dollar story copy of the New Testament. I'd be rockin' for Jesus a whole lot sooner if I was introduced to this. This Collector's Edition Beginner's Bible comes with a beautifully designed Bible - easy to read. Plus follow-along CD's. and videos. My sisters (6 and 8) both thought it was a nice bible, although the 8-year old was not as impressed. The 6-year-old loved it though. I'd almost let her have it... but I think I'll save it for my kids.
My son loves the book, movies, and listening to the audio cd.Some of the movies are basically zooming out of the picture from the book with blinking eyes on the people.
My wife is a preschool teacher at a Christian school and another teacher used this set to teach. It worked really well, so she got it to use in her classroom too.
