Ebooks Online

The sensitively written Let's Talk About It Books encourage preschool-age and early-grades children to explore their feelings, deal with problems that trouble them, and understand others who have problems of their own. Each title speaks to a particular concern that children might encounter in the course of growing up. All books in this series have appealing color illustrations on every page, and are available in both English and Spanish language editions. A short section at the back of each book offers related advice to parents. This book points out that a diagnosis that Mom has cancer is as frightening for her children as it is for her. The story describes such a situation, helping kids understand how Mom requires special medical care on her path toward regaining health.

This is a very good book for young children. It is simple and well written. It answers questions about cancer without being scary. I got this book for a good friend who has two young grandchildren and their mother is going through chemo. I recommend this book for pre-k through 2nd grade.

My friend was dying. Her husband had to talk to their 5 year old girl about what was happening. This book was a good starting place. While the Mom in this book survives, it told the story of what happens when Mom has cancer. He said it really helped.

I purchased this for my 6-year old nephew who was having difficulty understanding what was happening to his Mom. He was able to read this book and since it was about a little boy he could relate. He seems to be handling the ordeal a little better now. My sister was very appreciative.

I LOVED THIS BOOK AND SO DID MY 2 DAUGHTERS ALTHOUGH ITS SIMPLE IT HONESTLY HELPED THEM UNDERSTAND, ALTHOUGH I EXPLAINED AS WE WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS WHEN I READ THIS TO THE MY OLDEST THANKED ME FOR READING THE BOOK AND ASKED WHY I DIDNT GET IT SOONER, SHE SAID IT MADE HER FEEL BETTER ABOUT IT THAT SHE WASN'T THE ONLY LITTLE GIRL WHO HAD A MOMMY GOING THROUGH THIS AND KNOW SHE UNDERSTOOD A LITTLE BETTER.

My friends was diagnosed with breast cancer and we made a family survival kit this was for her son it was just touching !! Loved it

I bought this for my niece and nephew and it was very helpful in answering some of their questions regarding my sister in laws cancer and helping them better understand what was going on. (They are 7 and 9).

I am a school counselor and I got this for a family whose young mom was just diagnosed with an awful kind of breast cancer. The family was super appreciative and they said it was just perfect. Kids are Kinder and 3rd grade.

My son is 6. I'm dealing with my 5th re-occurrence, and going through my 3rd chemo. He is now old enough to ask questions. When I first bought it, he wasn't real interested. At the advise of a friend, I stood it up on his dresser and waited. A few days later he brought it to me and asked me to read it. It helps to open the door to discuss the situation and how it makes the child feel. I recommend it!
