I have finished reading the three volumes by David Ridges. They are superbly written. I have read The Book of Mormon a number of times. These books help understanding of the scriptures more possible. I am now reading the volumes explaining the Pearl of Great Price and the Doctrine and Covenants.
This book is an easy guide to learning the context of every chapters and verses with clear explanations of the meanings and events.Every chapter and verses contains notes that explain in-depth the meaning of the passage thus making clearer understanding what message is being told.The Book of Mormon was written long ago but it truly contains the messages tha the Lord would want us to know in this our present times.
David Ridges does it again, taking a group of good commentaries and bringing them into one book. The only complaint is that sometimes it seems he gets in a hurry to get through a section so as not to make the book too big.
David J Ridges does a great job explaining and give historical context for different passages of the Book of Mormon. My husband and I read from all three of his volumes every day and have learned a LOT that we did not know and we have between us and as a family, read the Book of Mormon more times than we can remember
With this book, the reader may receive new insights never before found by a regular reading. I have read The Book of Mormon more than 30 times, but with Ridges' notes and natural stopping places, I noticed some things that did not catch my attention on previous readings. I recommend it to all who want to learn more from The Book of Mormon. 5 stars!!
Using these has helped me understand the gosple like never before. I have ah hah moments almost daily as Brother Ridges walks me through the scriptures. I would highly recommend these books to anyone, especially if they struggle to understand the scriptures.
I have the Book of Mormon Made easier Part 1,2 and 3. You will want all of these it is like a student manual. It is written in language that everyone can understand. If you realy want to learn about the Book Of Mormon this is the book to have.
I have read all three of The Book of Mormon Made Easier books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I love that all of the notes and commentary are intermixed with the complete Book of Mormon text so that the reader doesn't have to flip back and forth between texts; you just read and learn. It really is like having a teacher read with you.
