This book is a compilation of 30 posts the author wrote for a blog. Therefore, the chapters are short and easy to read. It is a good primer for the grand topic. However, I feel that the author should have taken more time to weave the chapters together in order to deliver a more cohesive book that would be less disjointed and to help reduce redundancy. Otherwise, a good read, although it tends to create more questions that it answers. But such is the nature of the subject matter.
Very easy to read, but very well researched and referenced. I like the way the author puts himself right where most of us are. He councils us as well as himself about a very important event, but asks us to be prepared, in worthiness, and not in fear.
I finished this book last month, but just didn't get around to writing about it. This is probably a great book if you have absolutely no background in what has been written about the last days. I picked it up just to see if anything new or interesting could be added to what I already had read about the last days. I didn't realize that this book was written for a blog, which explained a lot. The author did a good job pulling everything together...information from Revelations along with information from Isaiah and other parts of the Old and New Testaments, in addition to scriptures from the Book of Mormon. But there are so many other things I've read and understood from Revelations, such as pollution that may be involved in the last days (the ocean or certain waters will become 'deathly'). A lot of what the author said was very obvious stuff that has been said before. So it really did not fill the niche I was hoping to fill. I realize that all of this stuff leads to speculation concerning what the authors of the scriptures meant to say, and since we have a completely different world view, our perceptions may not fit. But when you get this kind of book, you are asking the authors to speculate a little bit. The authors of the scriptures were writing about our times, and I'm sure the writer of Revelations for one thing, probably had problems describing what he was seeing...we need to keep this in mind.
I enjoyed reading this it was very interesting and give thanks for pulling it all together. Now we work on preparing ourselves
It was a book that held my interest from the first page to the last. I felt that its message is so vital to all of us.
As the title suggests it is a brief guide. Wish the author would have fleshed it out some. He does make some good points and does not veer off into speculation or tangents. The biggest thing thing to take away from this book is to be watchful, study the scriptures and the signs of the times, be prepared, and know that Christ's Second Coming is near.
This is a well written little testimony/book by a not so common Latter-Day Saint. Not so common because he has published his humble testimony of JESUS CHRIST'S Second Coming with references. Yes, we also believe in the Rapture, that true Christians will be taken up from the earth to be with JESUS CHRIST while the wicked destroy each other as the earth suffers the release of the wrath of God through the power HIS Destroying Angels. The righteous look forward to this time with joyful anticipation! While the wicked will tremble as they have to face their GOD realizing they have failed their great test and waisted their chance to dwell with our Heavenly Family in Exhalation! So sad . . .
The book is very cursory. Short chapters and not much substance. I learned nothing new. At times, it only appeared to be a rant blog. I am curious where he stated that he wrote this because he knew that Heavenly Father wanted him to write it. Nothing was given as support. I wonder if he prayed and got spiritual confirmation or anything. I am glad I only paid $0.99 for it. Any more and I would have felt it was not worth the expense.
