Contemplating how my experiences in life have a direct effect on my my perseption of God in both a positive and negative way has been enlightening. I've also enjoyed recognizing that as I have taken the time to really learn of God and his goodness, I have become comfortable and familiar in the lap of His love. I have learned to crave more intimate time with Him, and as I look back over my experiences with God, I recognize myself changing to become ever so slowly more like Him. I realize that He loves me more than I will ever understand, right where I am now, with all my weaknesses and imperfections, and His greatest desire is for me to invite Him into my life. He is waiting to walk along with each of us. Great read!
This book is PHENOMENAL!So many thoughts worth pondering!Filled with stories that you can relate to--you will discover a desire to strengthen your relationship with our Heavenly Father and find the help to do so.
The best word I can use to describe this book is PEACE. Peace amidst struggles, peace amidst questions, peace amidst darkness. We all struggle in our relationships - with others and God- at times. For me those struggles left me feeling alone and abandoned and wondering what I had done wrong and how I was failing. Wendy Ulrich writes about the true nature of God and why we pull ourselves away and helps us understand our distance and fear. She doesn't pretend that problems will disappear and all questions will be answered, but she does provide priceless insights and tools to adjust our thoughts and beliefs back to the true nature of our unconditionally loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ. I'll be reading this book repeatedly throughout my life as I strive to apply the scriptures and principles shared and learn to more fully love and forgive myself and let God in.
This book is a refreshing approach to feeling God's love, showing how our early parenting from our parents affects our relationship with God and ability to develop a close, trusting relationship with God. The author's candor in sharing her own struggles makes the book believable with very helpful examples as well as workbook pages to teach us how to do the work.
