This Biblical book is not in our modern day Bibles. As for its credibility, I have no idea. However, I am studying it for the purpose of broadening my prospective. Anything that causes me to think out of the box, I consider worth the time. But it's not a book for everyone. It covers the first 5 books of the Bible, the Torah, & provides a view through different eyes than Moses. For example, who was the first son born to Noah? Bibles say Shem was. The Book of Jasper states Shem was the 3rd born. It also says that Noah chose 3 gr'daughters of Methuselah as wives for his sons per God's command. And it names Noah's wife & the descendants of his son's. Another difference is that God brought the beginning of the flood, but not in its full force for 7 days. Thus giving the people a last chance to turn from their evil ways. A most interesting read.
Good Reading. Does a good job in filling the information left out of the Bible...Not all of info can be taken as Gospel, but if you know the Bible, you can eat the meat and spit out the bones.
I cannot say enough good things about this book. It has seriously caused the people in the bible to become three dimensional to me. I don't know how exact it is in it's information but the thing that I love about it is that this book has made me think and put myself into the stories in the old testament of the bible and for that reason the bible has become more real to me than it was before I read this book. I have yet to find a place where this book and the bible differ in accounts....more like this book fills in some gaps. Since I also love history I have researched some of the things this book shares about someone like Joseph and Jacob and everything seems to align. I recommend this to anyone who has an open mind.....who always wants to learn and to grow and wants to see the patriarchs in the bible as three dimensional people who loved and lived and messed up and yet God has used whatever messes and makes them part of His story.
A must have for every bible believer. One book that should've been added to the canon. Very spiritual, and it will fill in the gaps like a missing puzzle. This book is mentioned in the book of Joshua 10:13; 2 Samuel 1:18, and 2 Timothy 3:8. You will be blown away, and you won't want to put the book down. I guarantee it.
Wasn't sure about this, and I read "read the book for yourself then judge" . So glad I did. It has helped me understand the bible more. I feel at peace after reading this. There are so many battles in this book and I see why it was left out. Some of it dragged with the description of battles. I liked when the book breaks down the genealogy, boring to some but give perspective. I think this gave me better picture of event of Genesis. Brought more wisdom from God. Read for yourself then decide. 99 cents on kindle can't go wrong.
Even though this book is considers lost and this is possible not the original I still liked it. It really opened my mind to the real lives of the men and women of creation. The Bible is really only a framework on the beginnings of mankind leaving much information out and many details.
Tremendous resource for those looking for Apocryphal writings to enhance your study of scripture and history. I encourage those looking for deeper studies to get these books as they add more information you don't typically get from commentary.
a must read for Bible students. Compares very favorable with the same stories in the Bible in addition to giving names of women not mentioned in the Bible by name.
