It appears that the reason that there are 7 editions of this book is because the author has had to change dates in order to stay relevant. The reason for this assertion is the following:He stated in the 2nd edition of this book on page 235 and 236, and I quote, "The Lord has revealed several things about the coming judgement upon America:" followed by several bullet points which conclude with "America as we know it is over, and will not survive to the year 2007." So the LORD *revealed* that to him and yet the information was demonstrably wrong given that it's 2015 and America is still here.Of course, when pressed he could respond with "I mean that only America as we know it has not survived." Yet, in the same list of bullet points before the 2007 prediction there is the following:"Civil war will come to America at the beginning of the judgement.", "The east and west coasts will be destroyed by nuclear fire.", "Biological weapons will be used in the other major U.S. cities.", and "The U.S. will suffer a staggering loss of life in the tens of millions.". Yet, he just meant that America would not survive past 2007 in a purely symbolic "as we know it" way. Right.On page 31 of the 2nd edition he says "The great tribulation will therefore begin on or before March of 2006." That's a time period that credible scholars conclude will only last 7 years before Christ returns and will be a time of the greatest calamities the world has ever seen and will ever see again.
I like this book, although I don't agree with some of what he says. He doesn't believe in the Rapture (not essential, and some outstanding scholars are in this camp), but he claims to have had a vision (and I believe he is telling the truth), which cost him his very livelihood to be honest about.If you are into "the prosperity gospel" this book will offend you. However, if you really want to know the seriousness of the what will occur during the Day of the Lord (the "day" being a length of time--could be the entire 7 year Tribulation period), you should sit down and read this book.I like this book because this man is serious about "fearing" (I really mean "fear", not just reverence here) the Lord. This man takes God seriously, and I greatly respect that. So many who call themselves His own do not "fear" Him. God is not Santa Claus, and He is about to show Himself to the world.Mr. Baruch claims to have had a vision of the end times. His vision of the end times is .... utterly horrific, so much so, I found it hard to digest and really frightening (although I believe it is an accurate description). A vision where Christians will stand for the their faith and die, or cave in and take the mark of the beast, and suffer eternal damnation. Whether we like it, or believe it, or agree with it -- this is Biblical.This book stresses holiness, repentance and right living before a holy God. Mr. Baruch indicates that God will protect His own through the Tribulation, but that only a small remnant will be left. This, too is Biblical.The premise in this book is: "God will protect that which is His, and destroy everything else". I think that is nearly a direct quote that Mr.
