I found "Torah Rediscovered" to present the Messianic Jewish point of view of the Bible in an accurate and easily understandable manner. It explains why the Torah is applicable to Christians living today and why it had such a profound effect on Jesus and the original people who respected him. If you want to know whether or not a Christian should focus in on the Old Testament and follow the teachings in the first five books of Moses, read this book.
I absolutely believe that EVERY believer in Y'shua haMoschiach, whether Jew or Gentile, rabbi, pastor, or laity should be REQUIRED to read this book. I am most definitely going to present copies to the leadership in our kehilat. The authors points are well researched, logical, historically accurate, scriptural and contextual. In my opinion, anyone, no matter if they are Jewish or Gentile, who has a problem with this text is either anti-Semitic, racist, or elitist. It is long past time for the "one new man" to get a clue and get to work! And most of all; stop slandering and blaspheming the Holy One of Israel by saying that He changes or is a Respecter or holds the tradition of men higher than His Word - how about that?Ariel and D'vorah,if you read this, please know that this book has blessed my heart and spirit. Many things did not make sense when reading scripture or hearing a teaching. You have fully turned the lights on for me. Those who I have led to the Messiah will also receive a copy of this most necessary book. Now .... a challenge for you. I hope that if you cannot do it, that you arrange to get the most spiritually balanced, Messiah-loving, Israel-loving, Jewish and Gentile Bible scholars together to fast, pray, and translate the Textus Receptus in its proper context. They must not be ecumenical in ANY fashion. And ... I will be blunt and state the following; whomever it is who works on it, MUST NOT be a convert - no matter how smart they may be. Enough with those who bash either Gentiles or Jews. There is absolutely, positively, NO place for that sentiment in the Body of Messiah. PERIOD.
This is a great book for those exploring the Torah of Yahweh. Really gives you a whole new prospective of what the Torah is about.
Wonderfully clear and tone is gentle and unassuming. The book cleared up many of the things that I found were contradictory in the Bible. Understanding from Hebrew background is so important.
