This book has helped me through the everyday ups and downs of my life! It is an easy way to read important messages from the bible without doing tons of searching. I have four children (two are 8-month old twins), so I don't have a lot of time, but I do need God's messages in my life. Max Lucado does such a wonderful job explaining in simple terms what the scripture passages mean. He really makes you put everything into perspective. I have already bought this for my mom and one friend, and I am about to buy three more for friends. Everyone who believes and needs God's love and inspiration in their life should own this book! "What does God say about..."? ..."What are God's promises concerning..."? It's all catagorized alphabetically, easy to find God's answers and promises to His people.....in a flash!
I purchased this book as a gift of encouragement. Max Lucado is easy to read and the entries are short and uplifting. The cover is just an added bonus that looks and feels good.
I bought this book for my fiancée and he loves this book. He cant stop thanking me! He says its a very good book and now i might have to buy another book for me because he doesn't let it out of his sight !

Max has every right to revise and update his books. However, changing the title from "God's Inspirational Promises" to "God's Promises for You: Scripture Selections from Max Lucado" hardly qualifies as an "update." The original book ("God's Inspirational Promises") was a 5-star book and is highly recommended. Similarly, for people who DO NOT OWN that book, I'd give "God's Promises for You: Scripture Selections from Max Lucado" 5 stars. But if you own the first book and unknowingly purchase the new one on the basis of its new title and new cover, you've been cheated. I reviewed the new book in a local bookstore...I can't tell what Max has changed. Even so, here's a novel thought. Write a NEW book, or: 1). Tell people what is "new" about your update, or 2). Make a notation on the cover stating that this is the book formerly known as "God's Inspirational Promises." Max isn't shy about making money...not saying that he SHOULD be...but coming from a Christian author, this stinks.
I received this book from my catechism class. I read from it nearly every day. It contains a wealth of knowledge. I keep a few books on hand and give them away to someone in need of a little Godly guidance.
I have purchased a ton of these over time as gifts. I use mine all the time. It is the perfect Bible summary and reminder of all the promises God has for us if we just Believe in Him and His Word!
