Love the illustrations. The premise is a winner. The character is charming. I think the story is a little weak, but it will do. The ending is a very pleasant smile. A nice lead-in to a book like Osborne & Howell's Favorite Norse Myths. Read "Edda" to your kids first, then the Osborne & Howell book, then go back to "Edda" and let your kids see for themselves how much more they understand.
Love this new children's book! What a lovely, engaging new character for pre school children to get to know! As a pre school educator, this is the quintessential tale and character that children can fall in love with. Hoping to see what happens next for our new Valkyrie friend, Edda. The children await the next chapter! Bravo.
This clever twist on the challenges of starting school is a hit with kids from preschool through fourth grade! The kids in my school library love it! Can't wait to use it in the fall--pair with D'Aulaires' Norse Myths for older grades. A beautifully crafted book.
Edda is a five star children's book that is absolutely magical! I was delighted to find this new talent-Adam Auerbach. The children i read the book to immediately fell in love with grumpy, plucky Edda and her world. The story and the illustrations spoke directly to the kids who couldn't wait to see what happens next to their new friend and hero, Edda.
A lively and well written little story with charming illustrations - perfect for kids just beginning school. I bought it for my granddaughter.
