I haven't done Compline in several years since I lost my home church. Compline is a perfect end to each day and even if I don't read through it each day, I know it is always there when I need a familiar way to end my day.
I purchased this to help me have something I could use in the evening at the end of a long or stressful day. I have used this service over and over as it has become a staple for my end of day routine. It is calming when I feel upset, and uplifting at all times. I am so very glad to have purchased this service - even though I have a prayer book - this is always right where I can find it and use it.
This booklet containing the complete Compline service is perfect for groups and can be easily converted to personal service. It contains several options and offers a variety of suitable psalms, the bedrock of the Office of Hours. I use my copy as often as possible.
Possibly the most beautiful passages in the Book of Common Prayer, the Compline or evening prayer. A lovely and meaingful way to end each day.
I have encountered some of this material in the Book of Common Prayer and in Hour by Hour. This truly has a feel of the shared monastic prayers. I love it's peaceful blessing to the mind, body, and spirit before bedtime. What a wonderful to let the day's stress slip away!

compline is a very old service used as a preparation for day's end. It is wonderful to have it in my ipad.
